About us

XIST was born from a simple wish: to enjoy free-roam VR without being weighed down by heavy and uncomfortable equipment – or increasingly high costs.

It was co-founded by Matt Martin and James Burrows – the same team behind award-winning VR content creation studio, Immersive Studios – who were frustrated by the lack of flexibility and high-entry costs for free-roam VR. So, using the expertise they’d amassed over half a decade working in the VR industry, they devised XIST: a pioneering new platform to make free-roam VR more easily accessible to everyone.

Our mission is to create the world’s most versatile multiplayer free-roam virtual reality solution.

We aim to make the setup of location-based VR venues more cost-effective – in turn making free-roam VR accessible to everyone and enabling the creation of truly memorable group experiences.
